The digitization of the hand-drawn comic book was done in steps.
As a first step, I created the first page on Adobe Illustrator CC. But it didn’t work for the kind of graphics I wanted.
STEP 1: Compose boxes based on page scan
STEP 2: Export in .psd format
STEP 3: Draw over scan file and .psd file using Pen tool on Sketchbook Pro 2015
STEP 4: Colour using Airbrush and Copic Marker tools on Sketchbook Pro 2015
STEP 5; Export in .jpg format
The following are the digitized pages including the cover.
As a first step, I created the first page on Adobe Illustrator CC. But it didn’t work for the kind of graphics I wanted.
Following the explorations, I attempted to make the comic book. I wrote a short story about a ghost of a recently deceased individual having an existential crisis. This was followed by the ghost meeting a cat, which gave it the will to continue existing.
I then illustrated the story on paper and scanned it, to be used in the final render of the comic.
Following are the explorations/projects created using SketchBook Pro 2015.
Upon using both softwares, I concluded using a combination of the softwares would prove to be ultimately fruitful.
